Thanks John, the D300 came with NX but never used it before, guess I'm so used to Bridge.

I think you maybe thinking of Capture NX which is the "mut's nuts" for NEF files. View NX is like a cut down version, but quicker for just checking your shots and doing basic workflow.

That is true - I think that offer ends next month. However, ViewNX is free and a lot quicker that Capture if you just want to review your RAW files.

Re: D300 RAW preview images?

View NX is a sorting tool, like bridge.

Capture NX is the editing suite like Cs 2/3 etc.

Pete.

Same here. I think you'll need to download a more recent ACR plugin from the Adobe site before it will work. The default that shipped with CS3 didn't support the D300. I could be talking rubbish though as Bridge possibly reads the small jpg embedded in the RAW file. In which case I'm not sure why yours doesn't work.

As others have mentioned, highly recommend using ViewNX as well. I'm sure a lot of people complaining about the speed of CaptureNX have never used it. It's a decent tool for sorting out the good shots before loading them into Capture for processing proper.

Re: D300 RAW preview images?

Got it to work after a few updates, although it doesnt preview all of the RAW files that I had just saved to disc, its no worries though.
Thanks for the assistance all.
