Need help identifying species.

When we were out this morning doing the recce for the guildford meet I spotted this in the marshy area. I'm not sure if it's a short lens photographer or a great tit?

Re: Need help identifying species.

Looks to me like a lesser spotted deep pocketed pond warbler. Sometimes seen on cold misty mornings among trees and lakes. Although not native to the home counties, often settles there.

It's famous for displaying it's red rimmed plumage accompanied with a shrill 'el el el el el' call, in a vain attempt to intimidate other smaller less decorated species.

I like the "deep pocketed" bit and the "vain attempt to humiliate" bit as well .

Gordon is seriously creative with his flash shots. Lots to learn for me there I think.

Ah yes - What I meant, of course, was 'empty pocketed'
