Hi everyone,

I've been interested in photography for a quite a few years but I've only been using "DSLR style" compacts, the "superzoom" types. Whilst it's been a bit of a hobby for me, I've not really done anything all that serious. Photo's for family and friends and what have you. I've wanted a SLR for a while now and I've taken the plunge and just bought myself a Samsung GX-10, great camera and I'm having fun playing around with it.

So these are my first few photos I took yesterday, the first day the camera has been out into the wild!

liking number 4 and 5 mate. i was going for that camera to begin with but then had to pay unexpected bill so got cheaper nikon d40 instead.

how you finding it???

Thanks. I like no. 5 too, I really like the texture of the bench.

I was also looking at the D40x but went for the Samsung in the end. I don't really have anything to compare it to, but as far as getting used to it, it's been pretty good going.

#4 & #6 in particular are crackers. Well done

Great set of 1st shots there. I think 5 and 6 are the best. 6 would have benefited if you'd moved the camera a bit towards the left so that the windmill wasn't so close to the edge of the frame. But having said that it is a great shot.

As others have said - nice set of images. You seem to have a nice eye for compostion, and have obviosuly taken time to frame your shots nicely.

Yeah I see what you're saying. However, I purposely put the windmill there as further to the left was another building about half the size of it. I felt it drew to much attention away from windmill so decided to lose it.
