Revisiting old shots

Do you return to your old shots and reprocess them? I find that a lot of my older (and recent!) shots have terrible processing applied as I have high expectations and my skills with adjusting the shots are really variable. Some shots I've worked on I still think look good, but others just seem so pants that I can't believe I actually uploaded them to flickr.

I think I'm improving as I'm becoming more satisfied with more of the shots I work on, although I'm not kidding myself that I don't still produce a healthy amount of clunkers! Here's one I took in Lynmouth and processed in Photoshop Elements last summer:

on it's own it doesn't look 'too' bad, but I noticed it looked rather muddy. Having reprocessed another shot from this spot in Lightroom I went back and applied similar tweaks to this one:

I think I was trying to minimise the blue of the shaded foreground, but that left the rest of the photo looking rather oddly coloured. Although I could use Photoshop Elements to tone down the saturation of the shaded area, I think this new version is a lot better, the sunlit area looks fairly real to life to my eyes.

Has anyone else got similar old and new photos they'd like to share? Not unproccessed and processed but ones you're returned to and redone...

Re: Revisiting old shots

Had a little play with your picture Fozzybear. Hope you don't mind. Here is my result. I straightened the horizon as well.

Re: Revisiting old shots

I hadn't noticed the wonky horizon... and it's pretty out too! Will have to have another go at that. I like the extra warmth you've added, although I'll probably end up somewhere between your version and mine. Thanks D2V2D.

Re: Revisiting old shots

Revisit old shot's as my PP "skills" get better, I use the word skills loosely.
I would imagine most of us look on older pics and think similarly about why did I take and post it.......... hell I do that with my current pics.
