Rural Decay

Shot in RAW at ISO 800 with Pentax K10D. B&W conversion in Photoshop using adjustment layers. Some dodging & burning. Follwed by a soft light blending mode for the building only. Then all but the sky sharpened using high pass filter.

C&C welcomed.

Re: Rural Decay

I really like it apart from the big dark bottom right bit.

That's a mound of pebbles for foreground interest. Doesn't looks so dark to me on my screen. No shadow detail lost.

Re: Rural Decay

Looks like fashionable wood chippings on my LCD.

They look nice beside the creepy building that says 'chainsaw massacre'.

Re: Rural Decay

Good job on the processing, the tonal range gives a real sense of mood to the scene

I like your composition as well, nice job
