Canon Ixus 75 saving images help

Hi there,

Just bought the above to replace my Fuji. With the Fuji it automatically downloaded files with the month / date / time eg:

2008_0109_150514

This was useful as I didnt need to rename the files and there were never any duplicates, however I can't get the Canon to do this, the closest in their software is just the date eg: 2008_0109

I have even tried to just use the Fuji Finepix software to do it with the Canon but it won't work.

Can anyone help me please?

TIA

Re: Canon Ixus 75 saving images help

From memory, the canon software by default creates a folder for each day the photos were taken on. Then within the folder the photo number is the filename, with time and date all stored in the exif data. The camera remembers the file number and you wont get a duplicate till you reset the counter.

I used this system for a good while, and found it pretty straightforward and easy to navigate, till I got my DSLR and now I'm using lightroom.

You can set the software to automatically download to a specified location each time the camera is connected or card inserted into reader.

Cheers,

alun
