the ones that have a usb port, will they all have internal memory or might they need a card to be in ?

Some do have memory built in, but most of the cheaper ones don't.

I think the more expensive ones do have internal memory. I have an HP 7" frame that stores 15 photos. TBH If it doesn't state it in the spec, I wouldn't expect any internal memory.
