In the States at the moment and with it being Thanksgiving,
I thought I'd stop off and take some pictures of these harvesters I'd heard about.

CANON SPEEDLITE 430EX FLASH

Re: Last Harvest

I might go back with a tripod, to sharpen them up. Which one appeals?

Re: Last Harvest

I think if your going back you should try a thing called light painting.

Set the camera to manual and meter off the sky so that you get a perfectly exposed sunrise then (with your camera on a tripod) fire off your flash to light up the object in the foreground.

With your shots you've got either a well exposed sky and under exposed foreground or a well exposed foreground and an under-exposed sky (like the last)

Here's 2 technically identical shots but in the second I used a strobe on either side of the car to light it. Where as the first is just natural.

38mm | 4s | F8 | ISO 100

The second has been processed from RAW which is why it's got a slightly different WB and contrast but they are both essentially the same.

Re: Last Harvest

Thanks for the tips. With a tripod and a bit more time, I'll hopefully get the desired shot. I've only got one flash, so not sure how far down the row of harvestors it'll go.
