Hi, not sure of your budget but, i have just bought a Fuji F480, new out recently, from Boots at £99.99 including a fuji case. took it on holiday, very impressed for the money. It is now on sale at Boots for £129.99, £20 less than Jessops ! Hope this is of use, regards Damian.

Hi
its a 'proper' compact so should be fine. I'd tend to avoid own brand compacts and ultra cheap ones, as they tend to be pretty nasty. But that should be up there with most modern P&S - of course it won't have face focusing or smile mode or whatever gimmicks they have these days, but that won't stop it taking nice photos.
How old is your daughter? I was wondering about getting one for my son who is 6, but was a little concerned about having the zoom lens coming out of the camera in case of damage. I know you can get ones where the lens doesn't stick out (like my wife's T9). Probably going to wait until his 7th birthday though.

it will do the job i guess. Never was a huge fan of that A series, they feel very cheap in the hands. How old is your daughter?
Pixmania are selling a couple of Sony's for 95 and 105 (2 inch or 2.5inch screens) and i expect if she is in her teens or older then she might appreciate the smaller size. And im gonna stick my neck out and say its a better camera
anyway http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5423...013&srcid=3690
and richard, the fuji Z10 has a nice internal zoom, and with the colours they offer im sure something would take the fancy or a boy or girl http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/5973...html?itag=6506
i think they do black, orange, green, pink and maybe more

the sony... the fuji z10 is an ok camera but i dont think picture quality matches up to the sony in this case. It is unfortunate because fuji make some superb small cameras in the f20, f30 and f31 style. The Z10 just looks pretty it seems.
