A couple from tonight

After yesterdays disaster l decided to try and grab tonights sunset

I think I should have used filling flash for the fore ground
I've tweeked the curves a little but thats all

A neat trick I was shown for sharpening is:

Layer, new, by copy.
Overlay (at 100% opacity)
Filter, other, high pass.

use the slider so as to sharpen but not give halos.

works a treat.

I was extremely grateful for that advice.

I found usm gave nasty great halos and big black lines.

I know its "not the done thing", but I couldn't resist editing your original, just to show you the difference in sharpening techniques. Hope you don't mind.
Still a bit of a halo at the top though lol.

Thanks for that technique Scout (Tontos Horse), I have now set it up as an ‘Action’ on my PS, it works a lot better than Unsharpen Mask, as you say ‘No Halo’.
