Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal - Kinver

I went out for a walk with Lorna and my mate yesterday along the Staffordhsire and Worcestershire canal at Kinver.

Took these two photos, comments welcome

2's very nice. Is that a sort of lumin-e effect you've applied to it? Cos it works very well. Cracking lead in line too

Is it me or is one a bit washed out ? Is it 100% or a crop ? I like number 2 but feel that the house has some little details that have blown out then again it could me my monitor.

It's the processing that make it like that. The Orton effect. It softens the entire picture up and makes it 'painting' like Best to look at the larger versions IMO

The lock house is the better of the 2 for me, i really like the orton effect has on whites, reminds me of ice cream

#1 doesn't do much for me. #2 I really like the effect and the reflection in the water.

Number 2 is great but the dark ghosting on the chimneys is a bit much,i love this kind of effect tho and both are nicely done.
