First few with the 40D

It's a revelation going from a compact to the shutter lag of a DSLR, so far I'm loving it. The camera is making things look really good, mostly these were taken in P or AV mode today and last night, varying amounts of PP.

Those are really good pictures! Im a hardened old fashioned slr man but I may well now start looking at getting a Dslr!! Nice sharp images and from what I see on my screen the colours look good too!

Good effort!

Lovely Pics.. ( and great kit , the 40D)
And lots more to discover.. there is always more to these cameras than seems obvious
Which lens have you used for these?
Im sure you meant "absence of shutter lag of DSLR" in your first sentence

Lastly while it is Ok to keep you better half named as such I think it is unfair to keep the little Dogs name to yourself

Very true, I just figured out all the pics I took a few hours ago were at iso800, a real idiot error on my part, they are still pretty reasonable though

Was the 17-55 f2.8, I'm getting a fair amount of blurry ones too but I'm putting that down to user error

oops, yes. And the 6.5fps machine gun is great too, fills up memory so fast though

The wife picked a silly name for the dog so I just call it "the dog"

Ahhhh! Big wide eyes on #1. If she's handy, do a few more closer in. Ensure you've got some light reflecting from her eyes and you'll have some cracking shots.

Re: First few with the 40D

Nice!
The 40D is the camera that I intend to buy with the 17-85mm IS USM lens.
