Been out playing with my new lens

Like the title says I went out to play with my new lens and fist impressions are good even if I did catch a UFO in one of them and a Prairie Dog in another LOL

Re: Been out playing with my new lens

In the ufo photo you slightly cut of that big distraction to the right.
The second one is a nice contrast against the blue background.
The swan to me is lacking in colour and contrast. But I know that swans can be a pain to photograph. I've tried and failed miserably.

Re: Been out playing with my new lens

I think the Swan shot has the most potential of the three.
The ripples make a very nice pattern behind it.
The swan looks a bit grey to me although also seems to have blown highlights at the same time. I suspect those bright reflections have confused the meter in the camera.

Did you use a polariser?

Good thing is you shot RAW so can play around with the exposure, maybe even output two files from the same RAW with different exposure values and then blend them together in photoshop or other software.
