kids first camera

My little girl loves using my digital camera and I thought it would be good to get her one of her own. She is 6, but treats things with care so one of the 'kids' indestructable ones aren't really needed.

Just a simple point and click with lcd screen. Doesn't need to be latest models with high pixel count. Fairly robust, simple zoom and fast shutter speed would be good to make up for her slightly shaky hands. AA batteries would be great.

Secondhand would be fine if boxed.

Thanks for your advice.
Martin.

Re: kids first camera

Until I got into the whole DSLR scene my 3 mega pixel kodak digital with optical zoom did the business, given how things have moved on I'd say this is a good starting point, some of these can be had including postage for about £20 on ebay.

Re: kids first camera

My Boy is 5 and Like yours is very god with looking after things so after stealing his mums all the time we agreed to get him a Camera for his Birthday ( JUNE)

I was looking at all sorts and then seen on Ebay a 6MP HP for under £50

I liked it, as it is extremely easy to use and takes SD cards (cheap)

Have the fixed lens means less battery drain and less likely to break. the lens is tiny, but some of the shots he has taken are truly fantastic ( well I would say that )

I can post some if you want

Any just looked on ebay and THIS ONE looks almost identical to it.

HTH

Doug

Re: kids first camera

I bought my 5 year old granddaughter a Fuji A610. Nice big screen, AA batteries & easy to use. Add a mobile phone neck strap in place of the wrist strap for added security.

Now £50 delivered from Currys.
