Light Meters [Digital & Analogue]

How many of you guys use one? Used to years ago and was thinking of revisiting this idea. Do you all rely on the camera's metering or have meters for given situations?

Those that use them, which one do you use? Any recommendations?

Don't have one anymore but I used to use a Sekonic L308b - very nice little meter. Good solid construction.

I have the Sekonic 308b - Very nice little device. Doesn't do spot metering, but the flash meter is very good. I still use it - It's not that I don't rely on the camera - It's just that I like to meter frolm various areas without moving the camera.

Not much point in the digital word of instant approval.

Just get to know your equipment more and it all becomes pretty predictable. Seems pretty alien to guess exposure but with a little thought its quite easy and all thats left to do is check on the back of the camera.

The tiny LCD or in-camera metering isn' always appropriatte for all situations though. I doubt it would get used much but I still think it's a worthwhile investment

Re: Light Meters [Digital & Analogue]

I've still got my meter but think its more for "just in case" its a long time since I used it and I find the in camera meters reliable
In short I've got 1 I'm not parting with it but I don't think I would go out and buy 1
If I was to buy any meter it would be a flash meter but I've managed with out 1 this long
