Re: Nikon D40

I can't comment on the D40 specifically, but my Nikon D80 is great and my daughter has taken many good photos with it and has decided she wants a camera too as a result. She doesn't use any on the extra features that the D80 has over the D40.

Have a look at Currys. They have a good offer on the D40 today with a second lens for only £30.

Blue, I'm a complete novice, and the D40's perfect for me.

Re: Nikon D40

Thanks Ian, Currys still a little exspensive for me at this time, I run a D80 and love it, the idea of the D40 would be for her to use some of my lenses.
regards

Re: Nikon D40

I used one for a while.
'Tis a FINE camera, small, light and very easy to use and very high quality shots.

The only reason I got rid of mine is the limited amount of lenses available for it.
Although you wouldn't have that problem I guess!

Re: Nikon D40

I flippin love my D40 - great camera for the price!

Just bear in mind, she will only be able to use AF-S lenses if she wants to auto-focus.
