Hi Cadire - Bought the A630,got a question for you

Hi,
Bought the 630 today from Comet. It's really good for the price. Thanks for the advice.

When you posted you made a comment about 3rd party firmware updates to enhance it's performance.
Where do I download from, how do you update & are there any potential problems when updating?
Cheers

Hi Barnes!

Glad to see you took the plunge and bought yourself a camera!

This site has details on the third party software.

I called it firmware earlier, which is not strictly true as it does not replace the existing firmware, rather it compliments it. Once you turn the 630 off... it's gone.

It can be set to autoload, and has its own menu (and provides the ability to shoot in RAW!).

All you need to do is follow the instructions on that site, but really it just involves copying some files to an SD card and sliding the card's lock on (and setting the system to autoboot if you wish).

Any problems, give me a shout.

Good Luck!
