Quick question: how to take a rugby squad photograph

Hello folks

As well as being committee member, medic and website administrator for my local rugby team, I have now ended up taking the match day photos. I might ask for some advice on this at another time, but I have a more pressing matter....I have to take the squad photo this weekend and was wondering what the "best" setup should be....

As luck would have it I have a Canon 400D with the stock 18-55 lens, a Canon 50mm lens and the Sigma 70-300mm one. Now I know some of the decisions are based on the depth of field I want to go for, but the bottom line is I am not sure and would be open to advice on the best way to take the photo.

Thanks in advance.

RR

OK, OK just in case you aren't joking, it's a team photo of everyone lined up in rows, a bit like a school class photo

18-55mm lens then, f11 or so and 1/100s minimum with everyone standing still. Probably tripod the camera.

Job done.
