That Damn moon again

There I was putting the bin out last night and the clouds clear and out pops a lovely full moon. Luckily the D50 was in the hall with the 70-300VR attached.

Handheld? wow - pretty good even with VR.

What shutter speed etc?
I ask because I tried to do some handheld night shots whilst on holiday with my 18-200mm VR and most shots were still blurred as the shutter speed was quite slow.

Exposure: 1/250
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Spot metering.
Shooting the moon is very different to normal night shots. The moon is VERY bright. Spot meter on it and you'll see a fairly reasonable shutter speed.
