I am looking to replace my camera with the best compact available.

Whats everyones opinion on what to buy ?

My initial thoughts are the Panasonic TZ3 at around £240 online. 10 timez zoom, great lens and 7.2 mega pixels.

Any others to consider, money not the worry but I guess up to £300.

Have a look at the Panasonic TZ50 - a stupendous piece of kit! I took delivery of mine a fortnight ago and it really is awesome. I got mine from here Well within your budget.

Are you sure that you don't mean FZ50?. It's not really a compact, closer to small DSLR size.

The TZ3 is great within it's limitations, on the large side of compact but with a marvelous zoom. I am sure that you would be happy and you can get it for around the £220 mark.

You're quite right - I meant the FZ50 which, as you say, is more a small DSLR

You will love it, I just got one for my walking holiday in Switzerland and it's a great little camera.
