Photo's from my wee Holiday

Recently back from my inpromptu holiday to Kent and Portsmouth. Had cracking weather the whole time which was very nice. Anyway here are my pics (I might post more if I discover I've missed any.)

#1 - This is the old 1950's marquee my mate had his 21st Birthday bash in.

10mm | 30s | F18 | 10 stop ND

#2 - Taken from some hill in Wye, Kent that allows you to see for miles

10mm | 1/200| F10

#3 - The rest are all from Portsmouth

17mm | 30s | F9 | 10 Stop ND

#4

10mm | 126s | F8 | 10 Stop ND

#5

14mm | 2s | F9 | ND8 (3 stop)

#6 - The Spinnaker tower and the light trails from the Isle of Wight ferry. (I was a tad annoyed I'd missed the crossover lighting period for photographing the tower but if I had been there earlier I wouldn't have got the ferry...)

10mm | 60s | F13

#7

12mm | 20s | F11 | 10 Stop ND

#8

10mm | 20s | F11 | 10 Stop ND

#9 - Taken from up the Spinnaker Tower

22mm | 1/400s | F5.6

#10 - Sunset

300mm | 1/500s | F5.6 | -2EV

#11 - The Inside of Spinnaker

10mm | 5s | F9

#12 - This photo was a real hassle - I had to set my tripod up so that the lens was up against the glass then try to use my body, hands and jumper to stop the reflections of the interior lights on the glass.

10mm | 30s | F6.3

#13 - Summer grasses

10mm | 1/1000s | F3.5

C&C most welcome

Ally

Re: Photo's from my wee Holiday

Wow Ally that is a great set.
I like them all - hard to pick a fave out of them.

I am starting to worry about you though, is that 10 stop ND filter permanently attached to your eyeballs? Do you see the world in slow motion?

Great work Ally - lots a stunngin images here. Lovely exposure in the last one.

another great set from you

if anyone is looking to buy a ND filter you're doing a very good job to promote them as your pics with the ND are stunning

Re: Photo's from my wee Holiday

Lovely pictures. I really like 3,11 and 12. 11 seems to have a lot of depth to it because you can see the landscape around the structure in the middle. Very nice work!

I like 1,6,8,11 & 12, but 6 really stands out for me. You've really got some atmosphere into that one, lovely tones and random crazyness - I like!

Haha I'm beginning to wonder that too. I'll try not to use it for the parade today though otherewise it'll be over before the image has finished exposing!!!!

Not that I know of mate. It only comes in screw on from warehouse express I think. Made by B+W. It would be pretty complicated to use with gND's as you'd obviously have to have it on the lens first but as you can't see through it you'd have to pre set up the filters first.

It was an offshore ferry landing point. There was a strong rip tide which caused the flow you can sort of see.
