Halo effect help please

Hi ya

Started to notice that I am getting a halo effect in some of my pictures. Click on to veiw large. You can see it on the two bits of timber in the forground.

Am using elements 5. I used the Shadow and highligher, then Colour curves tool. So not a lot off PP.

Cheers for any help.

Re: Halo effect help please

It's from lightening the shadows. You are not the only one that gets it and you can see it visible in a number of people's shots. I don't use the shadow and highlighter tools but I guess a workaround would be to use the magnetic lassoo tools around the objects and then use the shadow and highlighter tools.

It isn't caused by adjusting the curves.
