Just got back from Holiday

Hiya! Back from holiday in the South of France.

Hope you all enjoyed the lovely summer here

Got a few lovely shots and I'm slowly working through them.

What do you think of these from the first batch?

C&C most welcome

Re: Just got back from Holiday

2nd is very close to being very good! You needed a very slightly higher viewpoint to look down onto the landscape just a little bit more and get less sky.

The 3rd has serious motion blur, weird because it was only taken at 1/100 of a second - you should have been fine. Were you trying to pan?

The 1st is a pleasant holiday snapshot, technically very good

Re: Just got back from Holiday

First shot is nice - Nicely composed, you've obviously thought about this one. My only criticism is the bridge is very central in the frame. Not sure it really mattersthough, because you have some foreground interest too.

The second is very nice. As Brammers mentioned, just a slight reframing downwards to give you the base of the first tree would have made it poerfect. Any chance of a reshoot?

Not sure whats going on in the last - looks like you have tried a pan shot, which would have been fine if you'd used a slightly slower shutter to really blur the background. Also, it would have been far more effective if you'd caught the diver a little lower in the frame where the water is. This would have isolated him and made for a more pleasing composition. As it is he's getting a little lost in the rocks. Nice effort though.

Re: Just got back from Holiday

In that last one it looks like the bloke is going to hit the rock

Nice colours in the first two and though I agree to a certain extent with what Brammers said about changing the angle on the second shot it maybe would have been more possible to use a lower angle to frame the building inbetween two of the trees in the foreground. I think you can tell when someone has taken a shot simply looking 'straight on' at the view.........there are always more posibilities available

Re: Just got back from Holiday

Thanks for the feedback. I think I do have one of the town from a slightly different angle, I'll take a look tonight.

Regarding the panning, yeah I was panning and shooting the diver guys. Here's one that blurred a bit better (but the diver also blurred a bit):

And here’s a different angle for the bridge shot with the bridge slightly off centre:

And here’s another couple I quite liked:

Re: Just got back from Holiday

That shutter looks very reminiscent of "Stefan Vert"
