R6 or TZ3??? which one? Help!

I'm looking to get one or the other. I'm using a fuji F20 at the minute and want more optical zoom, looking for 7x or more.

I like th TZ3 and if it was smaller i'd have already got one, not sure if the size and weight will make me leave it at home. I also cant find if it zooms while videoing, does anybody know?

I also really like the look of the Richo R6, its small with a good zoom, but i'm not sure if it zooms while videoing and i've read that the picture quality isnt quite up to the TZ3. The other thing is the R6 seems to have a much better battery life than the TZ3. Does the Rg have a good wide angle lense?

Then today i have been reading about the samsung s1050 and that also looks good, but doesnt have a wide angle lense, less zoom etc.

Big for TZ3 from me too. Did loads of research and checked magazine and online reviews. I am very pleased with my purchase. I have posted several pics in this thread from it. Just search on TZ3 or my user ID.

The TZ3 is better built and has OIS and Intelligent ISO along with 10X zoom. It is winning rewards left right and centre right. Everyone who has one seems to sing its praises (myself included). It has sold out in many shops within the UK and USA.

You can not use the zoom while recording. You can stop recording and zoom in more and then record again if you so wish. The TZ1 however does allow the zooming while recording.

Re: R6 or TZ3??? which one? Help!

My main worry is the size of the thing and the battery life.

Wheres the cheapest place to get one? I'm also finding people charging more for black ones which is a bit of a cheek.

Re: R6 or TZ3??? which one? Help!

It felt very cheaply made
I knew within 1 min of opening the box i didnt like it.
Took one pic then put it away and took back for refund.
I can backup what gazza said, im happy with my TZ3 too. Just need to actually use it
Black is the best color to get in my opinion, looks alot better but if your not worried about that then save a few ££ get a silver one

Black is the only way, maybe blue if it was cheap cheap.

Its the overall size of it. Does it bother you having it in your pocket and i mean that in a non sexual way

Where is doing good deals on them, any high street stores?

Both the currys i've been into havent had it in yet, said it was too new.
Odd, they also said it will be 299 when they get it.

Dixons online has it for a good price. Is it really dixons as they have all turned into currys, or has some chap broguht the name and running it from his spare room?

Comet were running an offer at the time + there was discount voucher doing the rounds. They obviously sold quite a few and have put the price back up again.

Good price for the black one here

thats a bit of a rash decision after one shot? although i sold my r6 as it was a mission to set up for every occasion, its auto functions didnt do it any justice with very high noise at low iso, but it certainly wasnt cheaply built its body is solid and if u have time to play with the setting its a great bit of kit but i still would get the tz3 over it as its better allround
