Was in Tesco today and needed my fix of a photographic magazine and so decided upon Julys Practical Photography for £3.70 and it has a small glossy supplement.
It is 43 pages big and if im honest, i think its really rather good.
It has some very quick, easy to follow basic instrucitons and explanations on lenses, how they work, whats best etc etc.
If i was very new to this (and not just 'new') i would learn loads from it. As it happens i found most of it useful.
It is for beginners, and wouldnt recomend this to anyone who know all there is about DOF and aperture. It is a very good guide written in a way that isnt patronising, but genuinely tries to quicky and easily inform you of what you need to know.
It explains :
Focal Length
Aperture
Depth-Of-Field
Selective Focusing
Hyperfocal Distance
Extreme Focal Lengths
Lens techniques
Lens Accessories (very useful)
1 bad thing..... it has adverts for Jessops all through it.
For £3.70 and if you got into the World of DSLR i recomend picking up a copy.
