A few shots from Wimbledon on Monday

I went to the opening day of Wimbledon and had the chance to try out my 400d on some moving targets... the light was pretty poor for most of the day which was a shame, but got a couple of good pics. Have not done any PP on them, would like to improve the contrast on a couple but haven't got the time at the mo...

1. Andy Roddick - serving at over 140mph!

2. Andy Roddick v Justin Gimelstob

3. Andy Roddick... again

4. An untouched court No. 1

5. Justine Henin - No. 1 Womens Seed

6. More Justine Henin

Comments welcome

All very nice shots. I always wonder if they actually mean Justin Henin instead of Justine cos she looks a bit 'like a dude'

Wow, do they actually let you use an slr in Wimbledon? Would love to take some action shots of some of the players.

Yep - I was quite suprised they let me too.

Amazing how load the camera sounds when you take a shot when everyone is quiet though - felt quite self conscious about it.

I can imagine. It would be like that kit kat advert with Monty and Woosnam

Re: A few shots from Wimbledon on Monday

That last one is my fav of the bunch. You can just feel the amount of effort used in the shot - completely flung!

The same as in your sig... the Sigma 70-300mm APO DG Macro.

I have been nothing but impressed by that lense since I bought it at Xmas. Had to bump the ISO right up to get the shots at a decent speed, but was impressed with the overall results...
