I've never been one for flowers.....

.... but after messing about with my recently aquired Giottos tripod and the remote shutter release I decided to have a go at some close work with the 24-105mm f/4.

I have to say that the tripod was extremely steady, even when using the horizontal centre column. Looking forward to doing some landscape stuff now as well

I'm wondering whether I should be looking at a macro lens as I'm thinking that some close up photography might be my next 'fad'. The Tamron 90mm macro springs immediately to mind ( got to pay for the 24-105 next month so could taken advantage of another deferred payment at 0% )

Anyway, commments welcome on all aspects (curry has just arrived )

Nice shot well focused and good use of aperture to ensure all 'bits' are in focus but petal's aren't.

Only yesterday I was photographing the same but in orange!!
