Nikon D50 manual focus

I have been attempting to use my D50 in manual focus mode. However the switch on the left hand side of the body - does not switch. I am using the body with a Nikon 28-200 lenses

I would be grateful for any advice

regards

sam

Re: Nikon D50 manual focus

Sounds a bit odd.

Just a couple of thoughts... Does it switch when the lens is not on the body? Do you have any other lenses that you can test it with? Have you set the lens to manual focus before trying the camera body switch?
