D50- hot pixel problem

I've noticed I have a little red dot in the same place in all the photos I've taken since near the beginning of the year. I've contacted Nikon & they want me to send them the camera and I wondered if anyone here has has the same problem, how much nikon charged to fix it and how long it took.

I'm reluctant to send the camera away now just as I'm getting the chance to go out and use it

Re: D50- hot pixel problem

if your sending to nikon then expect it to be gone for a couple of weeks. They might just change the sensor seeing as theres no real way to fix it (well, not that would be easier than just changing it out

Re: D50- hot pixel problem

From what I've read they don't change the sensor, they just map the problem pixel out.
