While at Formby Point with my family on Friday, I was looking at the map to find the best way home. I noticed that Crosby Beach was only 5 miles down the coast and remembered it had the Antony Gormley Sculpture there.
So off we popped at about 6:30pm for a quick look.
We ended up leaving at about 8:30!
Fascinating work (I'm a fan anyway), and also a good photographic subject.
I was mainly trying to use the long end of the Sigma 70-300 to try and compress multiple sculptures into one shot, but it was such a strong directional light it was still a real challenge. Trying not to get the car park, houses, people in the shots was also really tricky.
Thanks to the flexibility of RAW, I also had a happy accident when I over-exposed.
I really enjoyed myself

- apart from when my foot got stuck in the quicksand! Heed the warnings.
Anyway - the photos - in the order I took them I think.
#1 - the happy accident (had to put in the sky from another exposure).
1/200 f/8 ISO 1600 (by mistake!) 27mm (kit lens)
#2
1/2000 f/3.5 ISO 100 50mm (Prime f/1.8)
#3
1/4000 f/7.1 ISO 100 81mm (Sigma APO 70-300)
#4
1/500 f/25 ISO 800 238mm (Sigma APO 70-300)
PP - Sky from different shot in the first one. Bit of cloning in the last one. USM in #2. Then just curves/levels/type stuff. Oh and levelling of horizons!
Hope you enjoy - comments welcome.
