Where do you buy your equipment from?

I know it all depends on price and the internet nowadays, but it can depend on after sales service , stock availability and people who have an in-depth knowledge of the products they are selling.

So where do you buy your camera equipment from and would go back, may it be lenses cameras or just good advice even?. Any recommendations for a particular company even on-line such as warehouse express etc?

Looking forward to hear from your good experiences!!

Bought my 350D from Jessops when they slashed the price to clear all their old stock, also bought my Tokina 19-35 from their 5 years ago. I also have a 50mm f1.4 I bought through ebay from a Hong Kong seller about 4 years ago.

Amazon, eBay, Onestop Digital

Amazon.com marketplace and/or eBay. With dollar exchange rates so good and vendors selling stuff 'as new' for a lot less than new, I've saved a truckload of wedge.

More often than not, the warranty hasn't been registered and a reciept will be available.

Maybe I'm lucky to have folks in the States so I don't get stung for duties. Otherwise, have a look at Onestop digital. I'll be collecting my 'new gear' in September.

Re: Amazon, eBay, Onestop Digital

I bought a few bits from AJ Purdy (SB-800 and my old Canon G5) and I bought my Nikon F80 from Ffordes. I got my 300mm f/4 from Ebay but the 50mm f/1.8D came from London Camera Exchange in Colchester and my other lenses and my D50 came from Jessops and Cameraworld in Chelmsford. I buy more in person now, I've become a bit jaded about online purchases as I seem to have had more than my fair share of problems with buying online over the last year or so!

Re: Where do you buy your equipment from?

Got my camera from amazon. It was cheapest/reliable. Got a 2nd hand 28-105from Jacobs when there was still a store in Leeds. I've picked up bits and pieces from Jessops.
Most recently I discovered Dale Photographic in the Merrion Centre in Leeds. Pretty well stocked for an independent, good service, very helpful and I was pretty chuffed with the price of the Sigma when I got it. 'Nuff Respek!

Re: Where do you buy your equipment from?

Kerso via POTN for any new Canon stuff. Although I did buy my 400D and 70-300 IS from Jessops as they did me a good price and I hadn't heard of Kerso at that point.

Re: Where do you buy your equipment from?

Camera body came from Jessops on a pricematch. I've shopped around for most of the rest of my gear. Onestop-digital have taken quite a lot of my Sterling for lenses. For memory and batteries I've used Play, Picstop and Mymemory.

Re: Where do you buy your equipment from?

Bought my D200, 17-55mm, grip and SB800 from Greys of Westminster (very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with) - not only did they actually have the body and lens in stock (unlike most of teh webstores) the price they did undercut the web guys and I got 6mth interest free and extended warrenty - will be going back there for my new stuff ...
