Best settings for canon pixma printer

I just bought myself a canon ip4300 printer. I have done some prints in easy photo print, and I'm very pleased with the results.
However I was a bit confused with the print quality settings.

In EPP the quality setting is either 'default' or 'quality priority'.
But in the printing preferences you can do fast/standard/high plus some 'effects' stuff. I've read the help section but I was wondering if someone could explain these settings to me in more depth or tell me what settings they use.

Thanks

Re: Best settings for canon pixma printer

Just got one of these myself (rather annoying that a few pence's worth of 'USB 2 A > B' cable couldn't have been thrown in) so I'll be interested to see what advice people have on this one too.
