I've got one of the basic versions from there - same but without the head /QR and also no fold-down foot bit. You wouldn't mistake it for one of the top brands (Gitzo, Manfrotto etc) but it's quite sturdy and good value. Personally I don't think you need to be quite as fussy with a mono as you would with a tripod because you won't be able to use it to completely eliminate movement

My main bugbear with mine was the lack of QR (which this one has) - but remember also that if you want to use a tripod from time to time you'll need to swap plates over unless they use the same system...... in the end I bought a Manfrotto monopod so I could leave the same plate on the camera.
