Re: A comfortable neck strap

the Sony one (STP-SA) is very well and soft-padded in the neck area. i have one and it's very comfortable as it distributes the weight well and also to lower neck.

h4rri - for that size camera I'd get the Optech Pro strap - I had a Classic on my D50 which was fine but when I got the D200 I found it a bit lightweight & got a Pro (only £1 more) & its the mutts ... Paul

Re: A comfortable neck strap

What's the difference between a classic and pro optech strap? Thinking of getting after work before I fly off on holiday next week. Only have a 350d at the moment but will eventually upgrade to something like a 30d/40d in the future. The difference in price is about 5 quid in cameraworld.

Re: A comfortable neck strap

I also got (and can recommend) the Op/Tech pro loop strap. Really comfortable, and a major improvement on my old Nikon walking billboard strap. I think I paid enough for the camera, I have no wish to carry out free advertising as well!

Re: A comfortable neck strap

Yeah, the Optech strap is a good one.
You can also take the neck bit off and use the short bits as a sort of hand strap.
That's how i use mine 99% of the times. Just gives me a bit more confidence when im holding my 30D.

Re: A comfortable neck strap

What are these Optech straps like for a 'sweaty neck' in hot climates?

I have a Nikon D70 and used to use a Nikon wide strap (from ebay), but after 5 days in Rome in June it was very uncomfortable, saturated with sweat and so out of shape because of this I had to bin it.
(i'm now pretty sure it was a fake Nikon wide strap)

On a recent trip to Venice (equally as hot) I reverted back to the supplied narrower Nikon strap and although it dried out and maintained it's shape it was cutting into my neck (the main reason I bought the above wide strap) and the camera still felt very heavy round my neck.

I've another trip coming up, although not as hot but will have the camera round my neck most of the time.

So will the Optech Pro suit all my needs or should I be looking at a strap made from material like neoprene as seen here...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...B:EOIBSA:UK:11

Also, i'm not even sure if a wide strap is more comfortable than a standard narrow one!

Re: A comfortable neck strap

Any recommendations on strap or loop fixings?

In my case for a D80 with 18-200.

Thanks in advance

Paul
