Re: A day in Derbyshire

really like the horse one

would look even better if the wire fence and post were cloned out

just take lots and lots of pics and experiement with different settings as thats the best way to learn

Nothing wrong with HDR.. as long as one "owes up to it"
Cromford in the distance is Nice too. The foreground branches are a bit of a nuisance TBH
I Imagine it doesn't look as inviting in the image as the real scene was

If you click on the photo it will take you to its flickr page where you can click on 'more properties' to see the settings I used.

Good luck, get filling that card and have fun! And don't forget to post up your results.

Re: A day in Derbyshire

The horse and the one below are so blatantly HDR. Unless you have come across a new dynamic range compressor for your lens.

Nope. Sorry. All I did was use curves on it. I don't know how to do HDR.

Re: A day in Derbyshire

The horse is stunning, I know what you mean about levels/curves you can get a HDR effect with that.

Re: A day in Derbyshire

Agree about the use of levels and curves which can give a HDR look to an image. The horse one is great

Here is one of mine that looks almost HDR with simple processing.
