My pbase photo hosts have a stats section where you can see what what images are most viewed and how many views you get each day etc.

I usually get about 100-200 views a day except on days when I update a gallery when I get around another 100-150 on top. This is because the representative image for the gallery goes on an "update galleries" feature page so more folk see it.

The day I put up my new Gumball pages I made one of the pictures of the girls the representative image to see what would happen. I got 1359 page views that day......

Then, tragically, two members of the public died in a road traffic incident involving a Gumball participant a few days ago. News of the accident hit the headlines and car forums on Friday. I just checked my stats for last few days and on Friday I had.....2893 views

I'm not sure whether I should be happy or sad. It would seem that folk like looking at pretty girls (and I can see the pleasure in that)...but it also seems that there is a fascination with death and celebrity in our society. Why else would I suddenly find 2500 more folk than usual visiting one of my galleries.

I wonder if you would have had just as many views (before the accident) if you would have had a gorgeous guy as a representative image for the gallery.

Not sure if this is what you're getting at, but I haven't seen a photo of the person involved in the incident. I presume the usual media bloodhounds are after a photo of the car/driver.

Oops - just added a couple more views to the shots of the girls
