Re: camera for indoor pictures

Look for something that gives you the option of higher ISO numbers and possibly an image stabiliser as they will both help with shooting in low light.

The Fuji F30 and the Canon Ixus IS range are both good compacts that can cope with low light shooting (although the number one tip when shooting in low light with ANY camera is stability - use a tripod, a table top, fence, anything as long as the camera is still).

You are one of many people Ive seen post about their Sony's not coping well in low light - I dont know if its a known foible on their cameras but it seems a common complaint.

allie is right - the F30 & F31FD by Fuji have a remarkable image sensor (Fuji brands it "Super CCD") for indoor/low light conditions. Some tweaking my be required to get the exposure right for outdoor shots though.
