I was admiring the sunset earlier when this bird (Heron perhaps?) landed on a tree in the distance. Heavily cropped from the original but still large enough to post. Will add the original tomorrow as I'm off to work now

I'd say you're right about it being a heron.

I'd also say very nice photo mate. Shame it was so far away but kudos for spotting it and framing nicely.

As it is, my only long zoom at the moment is the crop tool in photoshop

There is nothing you can do about this but without the pylons that would be a quality photo even though it was taken quite far off mate.

When I read the title "a bird at sunset" I was a little deflated when I saw that the picture was of the feathered kind!

I thought you may have captured some form of goings on following a night out!

Looking at the piccy (very good capture too) i think the pylons could very easily be cloned out without any damage to the image - Liquid101 being the resident PS/CS2 guru may have some input as to difficulty

I wish that those darned pylons could be cloned out for good in real life ! That might be a bit of a problem though, even for someone as experienced as Liquid101
