First DSLR

Based on availablity of lenses, accessories and Price etc. Is there any point in not going for a Canon D350 as a first DSLR ? Are there any other DSLRs in the same price range worth considering ? I would normally go for an Olympus, but they don't seem to do one in the same price range.

Re: First DSLR

I'd say take a look at the Canon 350D, Nikon D50 and the new Nikon D40. The 350D and D50 are both dirt cheap and have a huge range of lenses and accessories, (all 3rd party lenses will be available in Canon & Nikon mount). If you don't mind limiting yourself in the range of lenses a little, the D40 is apparently punching waaay above its weight in terms of image quality.
