Sigma ef-500 flash or Nikon SB-600

I want to buy a flash for my Nikon D50 as I do a fair bit of indoor photography (family get togethers etc) but cant decide between a SB-600 for £160 or a Sigma EF-500 DG Super for £140

I have read the specs etc but being pretty much a Newbie to DSLR they dont mean much to me.

Does any have experience of the above flashes and care to share their opinion?

Thanks in advance!

The SB600 is available for £139 on www.onestop-digital.com, should not be any import taxes to pay.

Also interested in this if anyone cares to reply.

Re: Sigma ef-500 flash or Nikon SB-600

Done some googling and the comments I have read suggest a few people seem to have problems with the EF-500 flashes - the reverse engineering is not 100%.

Read plenty of positive comments about the EF-500 to but for a newbie like me I think I will play it safe with the SB-600
