Casio EX-Z1000 or Fuji F31?

Hi all,

Following my thread this morning reference a new digital camera, thanks to some advice from the guys on this forum and a bit of research, I've narrowed my (initial) choices to either the Casio EX-Z1000 or the Fuji F31.

Can get both for a very similar price, so was wondering before purchasing if anyone had any final comments as to which way to go.......my initial preference is for the Casio, but that's purely based on the fact that I think it's aesthetically more pleasing....

Any advice/suggestions/recommendations most welcome

Re: Casio EX-Z1000 or Fuji F31?

I got the Fuji on Tuesday and am loving it! £208 with 1GD xD and Fuji leather case from Amazon.

For me it was between that or the Canon Ixus 900 Ti but the faster response time and better low-light ability of the Fuji won me over as I will be mailny using it for snowboarding shots (it has a snow setting too, and sports mode). It's a good bit cheaper too.

Being somewhat of a camera noob my best advice is to check www.dpreview.com where you can compare different cameras.

http://www.dpreview.com/news/0609/06092501fujif31fd.asp (direct link to Fuji specs)

There's also a good review of the Fuji on Cnet Asia.

http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/digital...270886p,00.htm

Again, I think you can compare different products on Cnet too.

Sorry, dont know anything about the Casio so cant comment there.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge / experience can give you some better advice but that's my tuppence worth for now

One more thing, the Fuji looks A LOT better in real life than it does on the net.

Try http://www.steves-digicams.com/ for reviews.

There are quite a few reliability problems listed for the Casio's.

Re: Casio EX-Z1000 or Fuji F31?

I recieved my F31 yesterday after orderin on Monday from purelygadgets.co.uk (£182 with 1gb card). I took the camera out with me on a night out with friends and must say I am very impressed with the pictures it produced! Still got lots of settings to play with an different lighting conditions to try out but so far so good!

I have just upgraded to this from a Casio EX-Z60 (not 100% sure on model name!).
