For those tempted by cheap eBay prices, here's a good news story for you.
I just bought a Canon 70-200 for £385 (Onestop-Digital £374, Jessops £609!) and a 17-85 for £329 (Onestop-Digital £340, Jessops £433) from ADANI505-CAMERAS on eBay.
Actually, I didnt buy on eBay, but emailed Dani from his "contact seller" link on the eBay site, and asked if I could visit and inspect the lenses first, then buy using PayPal in his presence.
No problem - he put me onto his "agent" in Hounslow, a guy called Rajen, who arranged for me to visit yesterday evening, check out the lenses, try them on my camera etc etc. They are also based up near Leicester I think. Once I was happy, I did the PayPal transaction there & then.
This advantage of confirming the goods are OK before buying is a biggie for me as I'm somewhat nervous with lenses at prices as good as these. I didn't want to risk the import style deal from Onestop-Digital even though their prices are good and people say they are OK, but I like to see the things I'm buying first.
Anyway, the lenses were completely new, sealed, boxed, with guarantee card and instructions included. Top stuff. It looks to me like they come from the USA. Now to try them out...
