Sony DSC-S500 memory advice

Hi,

I have ordered a Sony DSC-S500 digital camera for my daughter (£93 from Aamzon), it has 25Mb internal memory but I want a memory card etc. for her so she can easily hold many photos/video clips.

I am not sure what I need to get! Would it be Sony Pro-Duo Memory stick?

And would I also need some sort of adaptor to connect it to the PC or do you simply connect the camera (with memory stick) to the PC ?

Just grabbed some cheap memory from mymemory.co.uk, might be worth a looksie. Have a Google to find out what memory it takes

Most retaillers sell the various adaptors [some multicard] to have the card plug into your PC without using the software. I have found though that it's sometimes easier to let them use the software rather then show them how to deal with dragging, dropping and making folders etc.

One consdieration is that unless the camera charges via USB then using the standard lead to transfer the images will drain the cameras battery.

Looks like it does take Pro-Duo. See the card readers at the bottom too
