Interesting topic. I've found that in my area, Glasgow, it is pretty well impossible to trade in a digital camera body. Camera shops, even those that do trade-ins just aren't interested. A good flash or a lens maybe but not a body.

You are probably better off online... here or ebay.

Best place to sell is ebay. I find I virtually get what I paid for things that way. Camera stuff is incredibly popular. I had 80 watchers on the recent sale of my EOS 350D (which I've never had on other things), and I sold it for £20 less than I bought it for, and that's with the availability of the 400D now.
