Advice for a noob?

Hi there

Just got myself a 350D recently, and enrolled in a GCSE DigPhotography course.

Finally got out and about yesterday to do some photos for the coursework, and these would be my first efforts...

My Flickr Group

If any of you have the time to offer any opinons or advice I'd much appreciate it!

Thanks

Ron

Re: Advice for a noob?

Nice composition on most of those shots, particularly sofa1, fireescape with greenery and tree in the middle. I didn't really like the conversion on the first one but the second one with the sepia feel is much better IMO.

We have a flickr group running so it might be worth adding your images to the pool See here

Re: Advice for a noob?

I'm liking the asbestos one, would love to see it in full colour though as a comparison. Some good work there though and you are obviously good in the digital darkroom as well as the field

Welcome to the fold and congrats on some lovely shots

Re: Advice for a noob?

I've added the original pic (JPEG from the RAW) to my Flickr page now so you can compare them.

Thanks for the comments!

Re: Advice for a noob?

Some interesting shots, I like your ideas.

I find the colour tunnel, mono else appealing even though it is somewhat spoiled by the horizontal being off and the downpipe in the top right corner is a distraction. Perhaps a bit more cropping and a slight correction to the alignment.

Good work. Look forward to seeing more.

Re: Advice for a noob?

Yeah I'm definately feeling the love for the B&W version. It definately enhances the shot. Some good work there mate
