Would have been a cracking shot if I had my 400D even though I still got the kit lens.

Well, the stop lights frame the light well, and it's as if they are saying "Stop! Let this godly light through!"

See what I did there?

I would but I need to get a case for it first all I have is the box it came in and when I am not using it I take it apart and put it back it can be very time consuming going back and forth.

I also seem to be a natural at taking photos which is another thing that annoyed me because when I went on holiday I had a 35mm film camera (This is when I was 10-13 years old) and near enough 75% of the shots were breathtaking and 5-10 of them were sun rises and sunsets which really spoke for themselves.

Thats why I have wanted to get a camera for so long and the £500 refund on the TV (BIG price drop when I changed TV's over) helped but then left me skint had just enough cash in the bank to buy a 2GB memory card lol

Edit
Forgot to say I was only annoyed cause I have lost the photo's

Why not just leave the kit lens on it if that's all you have?

Re: Good Shot Gone To Waste

Because I dont have a Case for it it would be left out in the open to collect dust and I dont want that.

It's probably more at risk from dust if you keep removing and refitting the lens.

Re: Good Shot Gone To Waste

agreed your going to get more dust on your sensor by taking the lens off all the time. The camera is fine to sit as it is with the lens on, just wipe it down if the dust bothers you, you could just wrap it up. But come on... a case can be had for under a tenner!

Agree
Its definitely more at risk from frequently opening the lens fitting.
Even if you have more than one lens, the usual practice is to leave your walkabout lens on all the time: Unless you have 2 bodies ( or more) and need to keep swapping the lenses.

I know the feeling. I was driving to work one morning along the A1, and there was a full 180 degrees rainbow that ended on a cottage in a clump of trees on one side. My description doesn't do it justice - it looked spectacular. I had my P&S camera on me (I always keep it in the car), but thought it a bit risky pulling across 2 lanes of traffic and stopping on the hard shoulder.

Cheers,
Liam

Re: Good Shot Gone To Waste

Cases abound. Lowepro is a good name .

I have 2 of them like these bought online from various sites I cant remember now.

Cambags is a good place to start though

You can get a simple case for now. With minimal padding it will protect the camera and lens from a short drop and inclement weather. The size you get will be determined by how much kit you have.
The one I have takes the 350D with battery grip and 30D as well as the 17-85mm lens comfortably. There is a little pocket for the Cf cards
Obviously with longer zoom lenses etc later I may have to change it as the flash gun came with its own case too

I have the 400D with kit lens and doubt I will be able to afford a new lens anytime soon.

It looks very good for the money.

Youll certainly end up keeping it as it seems to have space for more than a few lenses , perhaps a flash gun, your mem card and even its charger

I got the case through today and I must say for £20 this thing is brilliant the compartment where the camera goes has 3 clips a velcro seal at the front and a zip once you get the flap open and seems very well built am totally pleased with it.
