What a difference using C.Fn-4 and C.Fn-13 has made to my 30D handling!
For anyone who isn't familiar with them...
C.Fn-4 - has various options. Option 1 re-assigns the "*" button (AE lock) as the focus button.
So you can first focus, (then recompose if required) then press the shutter button half-way to set the exposure and then press fully to shoot.
C.Fn-13 also has various options. Option 1 lets you select the focus point using the joystick without having to first press the AF Point Selection button.
This is probably egg-sucking for the experienced members, but I'm so pleased to have found this out today I had to share it!!!
Give it a try if you haven't already - I don't think I'll look back after changing these settings. I think they are the same across the EOS nnnD range.
