May be upgrading at last, someone at work may be interested in my FZ20, any idea's what they are going for now ?

bill i sold mine on ebay for £200 at the beginning of august,that also included a 256mb sd card, a spare battery, and a remote shutter realease, i did find up until early this year they seemed to be holding there value well, but all of a sudden they seemed to lose it quite quickly, i advertised it on this forum with no response whatsoever, and actually put it on ebay twice, my advice would be eithier keep it as a spare, or sell as quick as possible as they seem to be losing value fast, especially as the FZ30 has dropped right down and now we have the FZ50, hope this helps.

Beachy, just found that you could see how much stuff was sold for on e-bay, best prices seem to be in the £175 mark, there was one sold a while back that went for over £1,000 ! Think someone must have put a silly max to tr to win it only for some idiot to go even higher !

Want to do it then I think of te 12x zoom lens and I think again ! How do you find life without yours ?

I'd either hang on to it or be very realistic with the price.

A new FZ7 for under £200 with 18 month warranty. A used FZ20, no warranty . . . certainly no more than £150.00 IMHO and that would have to have everything with it and be in mint condition.

The cost of the FZ series cameras are falling with newer models coming on stream. Older models FZ3/FZ5/FZ10/FZ15/FZ20 just aren't worth the money anymore.

Keep it as a spare.

I couldnt sell my Fuji 602 Z as nobody wanted to pay more than £60 for it ..

It cost me £550-600 new!.

My 9 year old daughter now uses it from time to time to get to grips with photography as the Canon 30D ( and up to a point 350D) are off limits to her ... for now

It is older and not quite in the same league as the FZ20 but see this

I've never sold (given away yes) any camera I've owned as it is quite surprising how little people are prepared to pay for them

I'm with senu, my eldest has been using an old Canon eos50 film camera of late, a fantastic camera in the 90's and more importantly he loves it, some of the pictures he's taken are quite simply

I've a couple of digital cameras a 300d and a A75 both currently doing a tour of the far east with an Aunt he'll get both once I upgrade, hopefully to FF next year

bill to be honest i do miss the 12x zoom, but i now have the nikon D50 which is far superior in lots of ways, on the upside once i can afford the more expensive zoom lens i guess the FZ20 will be a distant memory, having said that if i could afford it at the time i would of kept it as a spare, at the end of the day i would say if you can afford to keep it and buy a DSLR more power to you, but as you already mentioned £175 on ebay, and dropping fast i should think, and as pirate mentioned FZ7 is now goin for under £200 so a bit of a no brainer i guess, anyway from what i seen you did seem to get to grips well with the FZ20 as most of your photos on here are superb, i'm sure you can only get better when you move up to a DSLR

After reading these past few comments and a "do you really need to spend that much on a new camera" I will probably stick with the FZ20 for now.

Reminds me of when I bought my Scooby, georgeous low milage car, one of the last of the Mk1 1 "Classic" models, paid £14,500, salesman said, these do not loose their value, 2 years time I will give you a great price", 2 years later was lucky to get £7.5k for it.

I will never learn !

just one aother thing bill, if the guy at work is willing to give you a reasonable price like £175, you can now pick the D50 up for about £325 body only, i got mine with the kit lens for £363 although i wish i would of got the body only and the 18-70mm lens, is'ent hindsight a wonderful thing
