Canon 24-70 v 24-105 - I've taken the plunge!

... and gone for the 24-70.

Have hmm'd and hah'd over this decision for a long time now - I've read all the threads on here and other forums and tonight finally pressed the button and ordered the 24-70mm f/2.8.

How did I eventually decide? I think it's down to my 50mm f/1.4. As I get more used to it I think I've become 'aperture dependent'. Are there any self-help groups out there?

I can't wait for it to arrive!

I have the 24-70 and love it. It's my general lens that comes with me everywhere. The only way it could possibly be improved is by adding IS.

Great quality, although it is slightly heavy.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I have the 24-105 f4 L but it was a hard choice. Really wanted a 2.8 and all the reviews are great but in the end the extra reach plus a good deal on the lens swayed me to the f4 (which I'm loving by the way). Took weeks to decide though
