Jessops 300AFD Digital Flashgun for Nikon

Hi,

I have just looked at the Jessops 300AFD Digital Flashgun for Nikon for my Nikon D50.

Don't know much about Jessops flash guns. Anybody used this or have any comments on this flash.

Thx in advance if you have, just a bit unsure and not much funds at the moments for a speedlight so any help would be good.

Thanks

Are you buying it with the d50 and getting it half price or are you buying it on its own at full price?

If you are buying it at half price it is pretty good value for money. 50 quid for a dedicated TTL flash aint bad!

But if you already have your D50 and are buying it at full price then I would consider the Sigma EF-500 DG ST. Its £120 @ Jessops or about £100 online. You get far more for your money:
  • A more powerful flash: Max guide number of 50 rather than 30.
  • More control over the direction of the head: Swivel aswell as just tilt.
  • Easier 'zoom' adjustment: Automatic rather than manual and also a built in wide angle diffuser.

Re: Jessops 300AFD Digital Flashgun for Nikon

Hi there,

Thx. I'm looking at an item on ebay thats 2 weeks old. That is the Jessops model I mentioned.

I did look at the Sigma EF-500 DG ST but cannot find any info on how good they are.

Have you used the Sigma EF-500 DG ST? I would like that if it is better than the Jessops model but as I say I cannot find any feedback on the Sigma EF-500 DG ST.

Thx
